- Under the overall guidance of the Director of the Communication Division and the direct supervision of the Communication Lead for Special Events, the Graphic Designer will be responsible for developing and implementing a cohesive, modern, and innovative visual identity for World Environment Day 2026, Champion of the Earth as well as other major UNEP campaigns and initiatives, as required.
Qualifications/special skills
- An advanced university degree master’s or equivalent in graphic design, visual communications, or creative direction, is required.
- A first-level university degree, combined with two 2 additional years of qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree. At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in in graphic design, visual communication, or creative direction, preferably supporting international organizations or global public-facing campaigns, is required.
- Proven experience developing campaign visual identities, brand systems, and style guides from concept to execution, is required
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign; motion tools such as After Effects, is required.
- Demonstrated experience producing assets across print, outdoor, digital, social media, web, and multimedia formats, is desirable Experience working with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced, multicultural or international environment, is desirable
- Demonstrated fluency in Canva, Figma, and comparable modern design platforms, including the development of scalable, brand-safe templates for non-designers, is desirable. Strong understanding of typography, layout systems, and contemporary design trends, is desirable. Working knowledge of accessibility, inclusive design, and brand compliance requirements is desirable
